Pacific Blue News November 2021
Working together for our infrastructure
The HOA Board is excited to inform you that we are working with ICE and AYA to provide an improved and more robust electricity and water system within Pacific Blue. This will allow the continued building of new homes and future development. With the help of an Electrical Engineering consultant we are proposing a system design to obtain approval from College of Engineers for implementation of regulated transformers and cables throughout the development.
Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) is the Costa Rican government-run electricity and telecommunications services provider.
Costa Rica's public water and sewage Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AyA) is in charge of handling and overseeing all aspects regarding potable water services, and solid waste.
Additionally, we are lobbying to join the local ASADA Board that governs water distribution and management in our community. The ASADAS in Costa Rica (Administrating Associations of Sewers and Aqueducts) work under a delegation agreement given by the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueduct and Sewer (AyA); They function as non-profit organizations under the legal framework of the Associations Law 218.
Benefit to Pacific Blue joining an ASADA is cost-saving to the HOA budget, as the ASADA will be responsible for our well maintenance, regular water testing and assuring our compliance with government regulations. This will enable new home builders to easily obtain necessary permits required for construction.
The Board is grateful to all who have submitted their HOA fees. We are dedicated to continue with improvements to your investment. Your HOA fees are critical to help us achieve our collective goal. We remind you that final deadline for fee payment is November 30th.
Costa Rica on a global platform…yet again.
Costa Rica was named one of the winners of the Earthshot Prize, an initiative led by Prince William to award environmental stewardship. The country joined four other winners, and each received a £1 million award. Costa Rica won in the “Protect & Restore Nature” category. Keeping the earth green.
End of 2021 would be the beginning of a “good” high season in tourism.
Data indicates the return of airlines that flew to the country before the pandemic, including all those from the United States, Canada (starting October 2). The opening of new air routes to the country and the sustained growth in the entry of travellers, are positive signs of the long-awaited recovery.
“Costa Ricans and internationals are once again beginning to plan their trips in the short and medium term, and people are already thinking about where to go in November, so we are already beginning to see a little more movement, demand, consultations and that is good for the sector,” said Valverde.
