Reminder to pay your HOA Fees!

The new Board is excited to embark on a year of change and regrouping to carve out new initiatives in Pacific Blue. We will be announcing a new website to launch in the fall. This forum is designed to improve communication to owners. Our goal is to continue to maintain the value of your investment through keeping your land secure and manicured. Your fees are important to support our efforts throughout the year, especially in November at the end of the rainy season when vegetation is lush. Please remember to send in your maintenance fees or communicate payment plan to infopacificblue@gmail.com

Thank you for your support.

Fallen trees in the development

Security notified Administration immediately that the trees had fallen blocking the only access to the area. Clearing the trees took place quickly to remove and clean the debris away. This type of incident occurs during the rainy season when high winds and saturated soil bring down mature trees on the land.

Rainy season reaches its peak during the months of October and November with torrential downpours for two weeks of nonstop rain. There are areas of Costa Rica that are affected to the point where residents are evacuated from their homes and landslides endanger their homes and roadways.

Two key Bills to attract retirees to Costa Rica signed by President.

Tico Times published that a new project for retirees wanting to move to Costa Rica can enjoy a lower minimum required investment to obtain Costa Rica residency. The bill passed is called Project 22.156 and it would reduce the minimum capital investment for Costa Rica residency from $200,000 to $150,000.

In addition, the bill contemplates incentives such as the tax-free importation of vehicles for personal or family use and a one-time tax exemption for importing household goods.

People who qualify can import “up to two land, air or sea transportation vehicles, for personal or family use, free of all import, customs and value added taxes,” the text reads.

“In this way, it is intended to produce a necessary revitalization of the economy and a recovery of the levels of foreign investment of a decade ago,” stated, Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Segura.

A project to attract digital nomads to Costa Rica has been signed as well.

The law will grant year-long visas in Costa Rica for qualifying remote workers, often called “digital nomads.”

Remote workers can obtain a permit to stay for one year in Costa Rica, extendable for one additional year. They will also have the possibility of opening local bank accounts and can drive in Costa Rica using their country’s license, among other benefits.
